The Better Abdominal Exercise
La Crescenta personal trainer Tracey shows a better ab exercise to help strengthen your core and flatten your abs. It’s surprisingly simple but actually quite difficult to do and if you’re after a tough and very effective exercise for your lower abdominal muscles, this could be the one for you.
The problem with traditional ab exercises like sit-ups, leg lifts and crunches is that they put a huge load on the hip flexor muscles which takes the concentration off those abs and can even cause problems with the hips if done too much.
Tracey’s ab exercise takes a bit of practice to do properly – a good starting point would be simply to lie on your back with your knees bent and press your back into the floor, hold for 10 seconds, relax and then repeat 10 times. Once you have this mastered, you’d go on to do it as described in the video (above).
